Hi, I'm Pell.

I'm an asexual, agender independent programmer and game developer from Ohio, USA. I don't have the world's greatest breadth of experience, so I thought this would be a good page to show you what I'm about. I apologize in advance that this page is not designed for mobile and will not look nearly as good there. I'm a hobbyist in web design.

In 2025, I created this really cool little game in Godot called Marooned for the One Shot Showdown, which got 2nd place! It was a one-button, one-unit RTS-survival hybrid, to fit with the theme "you only get one." While it's not perfect, nearly the entire project was done in a week, and I learned a lot about A* pathing, project management, and scope.

In June 2025, I attended Narrascope for the first time, and was introduced to a lot of wonderful people and educated about narrative concepts I didn't even consider before. At this time, I had decided that I wanted to work on something horror-adjacent, before coming back to Marooned to remake it later.

Since then, my vision has changed significantly. In November 2025, I participated in Novel November, with the goal of writing my first ever Visual Novel. While this didn't work out in my favor due to severe burnout at my full-time job, it was a fantastic stepping stone.

In January, I started on a new visual novel entirely that I've been working on at a more sustainable pace. My baseline concept is the use of the "palette swap" system, in that the player can cycle between a few colors to affect the mood of the main character, rather than making individual decisions, inspired by the Science Adventure series.

I am familiar with the following languages, tools, and platforms, and I'm always excited to learn more:
